Th’ Legendary Shack ShakersOn September 18, disparate psychobilly outfit Th' Legendary Shack Shakers returns with Swampblood (cover shown left), the final installment in its "Tent Show Trilogy" for Yep Roc Records.

Though firmly rooted in Southern style, the group weaves together elements of rock, polka, and Eastern European music while employing a gothic aesthetic. To continue branching outward, Swampblood purportedly incorporates African rhythms but offers a newfound accessibility.

Meanwhile, front man J.D. Wilkes, whose artwork was featured in ALARM Magazine 20, has kept busy by directing Seven Signs, a Judd Films documentary designed to delve into the stranger sides of southern heritage. The film's trailer can be accessed below, as can "Agony Wagon," the Roma-tinged romp that begins Believe, the first album in the trilogy.
